Our Mission

The Euclid Hunger Center’s mission is to offer a positive, compassionate environment in which to provide food assistance to eligible Euclid residents.

The Euclid Hunger Center operates as a choice pantry for the residents of Euclid. Our pantry allows families to have options, eliminates waste, and creates a more dynamic relationship between our volunteers and our families. Our site relies on the hard work of a group of over 40 volunteers and the efforts of two part time employees. Our volunteers are on the front lines and behind the scenes ensuring that our operation runs efficiently and effectively.

Collaboration is key to our success. We receive assistance from Euclid churches, businesses, schools, gardeners, as well as auxiliary groups. We are extremely pleased and proud of the contributions made by individuals and local businesses.

Our collaboration extends to agencies including the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland, and Catholic Charities. These wonderful organizations offer us additional support and help us make important connections to build a strong network. Our relationship with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank has helped us establish retail pick ups at Marc’s, Aldi, Dave’s, Target, Big Lots, Trader Joe’s and Meijer. These pickups yield an array of different kinds of items including fresh produce, frozen meat, baked goods, a variety of non-perishables, and household items.

It is extremely important for the EHC to offer fresh, healthy produce. To accomplish this we schedule additional pick ups at the GCFB to shop their free produce market, we accept donations from the Memorial Park Community Garden, Veteran’s Combating Childhood Hunger, and individual gardeners. We take the responsibility of providing healthy options very seriously and we understand how important those options are to the families and individuals we serve.

We receive additional funding through Cuyahoga County specifically for the purchase of food items from the Greater Cleveland Food Bank. This funding helps cover the cost of important food staples.

Above all, we instill a culture of positivity and compassion. Our volunteers are dedicated to our motto of “neighbors helping neighbors” and it can be seen and felt during every distribution. Whether you are interested in being part of our team our you are in need of our services, we encourage you to reach out and you will be welcomed by all.
